Everything headlamp related is removed.

I used bits and pieces from the XL and the LTD. I massaged and metal bumped the braces back to factory form. Everything was powder coated. I found some neat stainless Ford body bolts, even better I need not do anything to them. I bought 200 of them, enough to finish the other '66's.

Starting to go back together.

The decision was made to convert the vacuum door system to electric, with that and upgrading the headlamp wiring I need to modify a good existing harness. Turns out the harness from that '68 LTD parts car was in fantastic shape. I'll use that for the parking lamp portion and run new heavier wires for the headlamps and also run wires for the headlamp door motor.

I'll remove and replace the headlamp and horn wiring and add the ceramic sockets. I will also add the wiring for the headlamp door motor.

Here it is laid out and connected. I also changed the grounds, instead of them running to the radiator core support with a small sheet metal screw I used heavy gauge wire from each side and they will be run up to the booster 3/8" bolts. All the engine bay grounds now go there and a tight ground can be assured with bolts and nuts and not sheet metal screws.

This harness has the washer pump also integrated in it.

The harness somewhat installed.

Since I retained the original parking lamp wiring and connectors they connect normally.
