The taller magnetic drain plug arrived and brother is it much stronger of a magnet. It's actually kind of difficult to install as the magnetic pulls the bolt hard off centre to start the threads.
However it has the required height and will act as an oil filter for anything ferrous or even paramagnetic.
It's starting to come together and look much better.
New main gasket, new copper washers and new locknuts for the third member.
Third member installed.
New axle seals.
Installed with a light smearing around the edge with Ultra Black RTV.
New axle shaft bearings.
Installed like so.
Both bearings feel really good and these should last another 25 years.
Minor hardware that was prepped and ready for installation.
New coil spring pads.
Getting there.
Hardware and gaskets for the backing plates and axle retainers.
For brush painted POR 15 it doesn't look bad. I mean this isn't a show car and is a daily driver, it's respectable for this application.
Plus no more leaks and easy oil changes now.
