Well I thought I'd try to link two videos in a player but it's not so apparent to me how to make it work. So this will be kind of cheesy, my apologies. These videos have to do with exhaust tones and volumes.

The first video is of our '68 craptastic LTD with the Z code 390 and nearly stock dual exhaust. I should point out that the only modification I could see is the previous owner(s) cut out the factory mufflers and put in some glass packs. With a 10.5:1 Z code FE you would think this arrangement should sound good and be noticeable.

Have a look see for yourself. Hopefully your browser will play the videos.

Now the next video is of the '66 LTD this post has been about. I wanted a more free flowing exhaust so it's 2.5" out with an X pipe into Walker Quiet Flo stainless mufflers then into resonators to control the volume. The goal was to make the exhaust as quiet as possible. I didn't do so well.

This video is taken with the same camera and the audio was not altered. The comparison is comical to say the least.

1966 LTD Exhaust Video

With the two LTD's running side by side, you cannot even tell the '68 is running you have to put your hand on it to see if it's still chugging along.

If you have a sound system that reproduces low frequencies extremely well, the comparison between the two FE 390's become even more stark. If you're standing behind the '66 whilst it's idling it rattles your chest.

Until Later

Cheers
